Winter 2006
Dear Arizona Auto Hobbyist:
Our organization was formed in 1973 with a five-point purpose:
- To represent the best interests of all automotive hobbyists.
- To inform and assist the automotive hobbyist within Arizona
concerning legislative actions.
- To propose legislation protecting the best interests of the
automotive hobbyist/enthusiast.
- To serve as a technical and accurate source of information concerning
legislative activities for the benefit of the motoring public
as well as the enthusiast.
- To promote and unite hobbyist and organizations in preserving
our automotive heritage while protecting our hobby’s future.
We have proudly served the HOBBYIST of Arizona for three decades
and have been very effective in beating back the ongoing threats
that could severely hurt our HOBBY or completely destroy it. We
have been on the job as your watchdog for our HOBBY to take on
the
challenges of scrappage proposals, new vehicular taxes, aggressive
zoning laws, anti-cruising efforts and many other issues that
would
harm our HOBBY.
Our organization has a great history of clout, based on the hobbyists
we represent. If we have 100 member clubs with an average membership
of 30 members, that is a base of 3,000 people. With an average of
2.3 voters per household, that is almost 7,000 who can vote on issues
or candidates that effect our HOBBY. When you consider that some
local and state elections have been won by 10 votes or less, not
to mention the last presidential election, we have a tremendous
amount of clout. This is why it is so important for every car club
to join the Arizona Automobile Hobbyist Council. If all 221 car
clubs in this state joined the AAHC we would have the clout of over
15,000 voters. It’s almost scary when you sit back and look
at the possibilities those numbers could have an affect on. PLEASE
JOIN NOW!!!
We hope to see you at the next general meeting
as a new or returning member. The dues are $30 for small clubs
(under 30 members) and $40 for large clubs (over 30 members), Individual membership $15.
Each club membership will receive three (3) copies of the AAHC Journal per issue. Individual members one copy per membership, all memberships run from January 1st to December 31 of calendar year.
Our motto is: UNITED WE DRIVE, DIVIDED WE PARK!
