AAHC Presidents Letter
Member car clubs and individual members are reminded to renew membership for 2009-10, form is available on our web site or at the general meeting
The AAHC Journal will go out every other month, along that line I am requesting members clubs to send in a short article about their clubs to be featured in the bi-monthly newsletter. We will also post the Journal on the web site.
Membership has increased over the past year, a few long time car clubs have dissolved due to lack of membership but there are new clubs forming. If your club is not a member of the AAHC, contact a Board Member or Club Representative, come out to the next general meeting, and get to know us. There is strength in numbers, and as a group we have CLOUT (power and influence: the power to direct, shape, or otherwise influence things). We as Hobbyists spend time and money to restore and preserve our cars both old and new, so we should stand together to protect our Hobby and keep history alive for the generations to come.
Please be sure that your new officers are getting our mailings, and verify who is on our list and who needs to be changed. We especially need correct email addresses as that is how we send out, LEGISLATIVE ALERTS, and news about upcoming meetings and events. If you have not received our emails in the past and want to be added to our email list send your information to info@azautohobbyist.com
UNITED WE DRIVE
The Arizona Automobile Hobbyist Council
Our organization was formed in 1973 with five-point purpose. We have proudly served the HOBBYISTS of Arizona for three decades and have been very effective in beating back the constant, year after year, threats that could severely injure our HOBBY or completely destroy it. We have been on the job as your watchdog for our HOBBY to take on the challenges of, scrappage proposals, new vehicular taxes, aggressive zoning laws, anti-cruising efforts and many other issues that would harm our HOBBY.
Our organization has a great history of clout, purely due to numbers. If we have 100 member clubs with an average membership of 50 members, that is a base of 5,000 people. With an average of 2.3 voters per household that is 11,500 who can influence 3 people each, we now have clout of 34,500 persons to vote on issues or candidates that effect our HOBBY. When you consider that some local and state elections have been won by 10 votes or less, we have a tremendous amount of clout. This is why it is so important for every car club to join the AAHC! If all 221 car clubs in AZ joined the AAHC we would have the clout of 76,245. It’s almost scary when you sit back and look at the possibilities those numbers could have an affect on. PLEASE JOIN NOW!!!
